Course Overview

Learn advanced techniques to make the ground more compatible with mining and underground construction.

The area of ground improvement has become a very important issue in underground construction and mining. Tunnels, shafts and underground chambers are being built in much more difficult and challenging geologies than in the past, and in urban settings where there are stringent settlement control and mitigation requirements, which leads to the use of various ground improvement and stabilization techniques before and during construction.

During this intensive, three-day course, you’ll explore the pros and cons of all types of ground improvement techniques, including dewatering, ground freezing and grouting, under the instruction of internationally recognized experts. When you complete this course, you’ll have knowledge on the design and implementation of the most appropriate and cost-effective method to utilize in your construction project. The course further provides an excellent opportunity for networking and mingling with industry professionals.
